Piercings and Tattoos for Minor Children

Minor Children may be pierced or tattooed at our studio following the state of Texas health department guidelines.

Piercings

  • Child must have a parent or legal guardian complete the appropriate forms (link below).
  • Parent or Guardian must a have a valid (not expired) government issued photo ID.
  • Parent or Guardian must accompany the minor to our shop and complete the paperwork, unaccompanied minors will need their paperwork notarized.
  • Child must have a birth certificate listing the accompanying parent as their birth parent and if they are old enough, a school ID.
  • Legal Guardians must have court paperwork showing they are the legal guardian or adoptive parent.  This must be a original document, it can not be a copy.

Tattoos

In Texas, minor children may be tattooed with the consent of a minor's parent or legal guardian, who determines it to be in the best interest of the minor child to cover an existing tattoo. A person under the age of 18 may be tattooed under the following conditions

The existing tattoo must contain:

  • obscene or offensive language or symbols;
  • gang-related names, symbols, or markings;
  • drug-related names, symbols, or pictures; or
  • some other type of words, symbols or markings that the parent, guardian, or a court considers would be in the best interest of the minor to cover.

We will be able to cover the tattoo, but not in excess of the area of the tattoo (if a child has a dime sized tattoo on them, we will not cover it with a baseball sized tattoo.  It will only be large enough to adequately cover the offensive tattoo).  Existing tattoos must be fully healed (at least 6 weeks old and have no scabbing or pink scarring). Tattoos on minor children require an appointment.  Please call/text Holly at (512) 517-8388 to schedule an appointment. Release forms are available in the link below.
